I love sharing my passion for agriculture with others
My Roots in Agriculture: Click on the tabs below agriculture pride (or below this paragraph) to learn more about my experiences in the National FFA Organization, and read some of my blog posts on Pennsylvania agriculture. I absolutely love sharing my passion for animals, knowledge about agriculture, and experiences with people.
I also wrote a paper advocating agriculture education in the U.S., which is attached below.

Forming and Supporting an Ag-Informed Generation
Through Agriculture Education:
My dad always says that some of his best thinking is while in the barn, milking cows. I truly am my fathers daughter and do a lot of thinking when in the barn. There is something so calming about working with animals, being outside, and being physically active throughout the day. The idea for this next essay/ proposal came to my mind after an evening spent in the barn. I was surveying the cows and felt such a surge of pride for this way of life that my family is a part of. This happiness and pride however, was shadowed by the stigma of society's views of production agriculture. The truth is that as the average American consumer grows further and further away from the family farm, they lose sight of how important agriculture is to us all. Food, clothing, shelter, fuel... these are all agricultural products.
This proposal calls for the USDE, USDA, and School Boards across America to help implement agriculture education (Ag Ed) in middle and/or high schools across the nation. I discuss how having an upcoming generation of agriculturally literate citizens will aid the United States of America’s economy, will help students become more well-informed consumers, will encourage more environmentally friendly practices, and will sustain the food security of the future. For an industry that affects all Americans at least three times a day when they eat, it is about time that the education system made Ag Ed a priority.
